Tekton, the construction solutions specialist, has announced that it will be launching a new AEC solution called SPACE for Professional Services companies who operate in Construction. Working in partnership with Microsoft, the new operational and accounting solution will be available in 2008 and is designed specifically for Architects, Consulting Engineers, Quantity Surveyors and Project Managers. The solution will be built on the Microsoft Dynamics financial software and will integrate with Microsoft SharePoint, Microsoft Project and Microsoft Office.
To underpin this expansion into another part of the construction market, Tekton is delighted to announce that Steve Tosh has joined their Board of Directors as Chief Operating Officer – AEC. Steve will be responsible for bringing the new AEC solution to market – a role he has carried out very successfully in the past. Steve has worked in the sector for many years starting with Syntech (a Misys subsidiary) in the 90’s where he was Operations Director and was responsible for such products as Conquest, Conquest Professional, ProForM and Progression AEC and also at the turn of the century successfully ran his own business for a period working with products like OpenAccounts and Lawson Financials. Steve joins Tekton from competitor company RedSky IT where, as well as managing the support and development of their AEC products for a time, his most recent role was that of Quality Director working to improve the quality of the RedSky IT products and customer services.
Steve Tosh said of his appointment – “Following the latest release of Microsoft products in the Dynamics financial range along with SharePoint 2007, Project 2007, Office 2007 and the Microsoft roadmap going forward, there has never been a better foundation to bring a truly world class solution to the AEC sector as there is now. That allied to Tekton’s track record of investment in product development and customer services, evident across its existing solutions, made this an opportunity I could not miss.”
